An independently developed converter

Converttwo is independently developed, tested, and maintained. We design and review every conversion workflow and page ourselves, and we publish downloadable sample results so you can inspect what the converter produces before you use it.

Where your files are processed

Converttwo has two processing models: conversions that run entirely in your browser and conversions that use server-assisted processing for layout-aware document work.

In your browser

These conversions run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The files you select are processed locally and never uploaded to a server:

Server-assisted processing

PDF-to-Word and Word-to-PDF use server-assisted processing for layout-aware document conversion. The selected document is sent over HTTPS to our converter, which converts it in an isolated temporary workspace. The service is designed to remove the source file, generated result, and workspace immediately after processing, and cleanup is also attempted if the conversion fails or the request is interrupted. We do not retain file contents or use uploaded documents for any other purpose.

How the downloadable examples were tested

The downloadable files in the sample downloads were produced with the same conversion workflows Converttwo uses. Each example was created from a known source file and then checked for page count, editable and searchable text, and preserved structure. The test date, file sizes, and observed changes are documented in the "Tested example" section of each guide:
