Scope of this policy

This policy applies across Converttwo, including every page where advertising code may appear. It explains three separate kinds of processing: file conversion and service operation by Converttwo, infrastructure and security processing by hosting providers, and advertising processing by Google or other authorized advertising vendors.

How files are processed

Converttwo provides browser-based and server-assisted conversion features. Image conversion, Images-to-PDF, PDF splitting and merging, and PDF page export run in the browser. Those tools do not send selected file contents to Converttwo's document-conversion API. Their pages can still make ordinary network requests for the site and third-party resources described below.

PDF-to-Word and Word-to-PDF send the selected document over HTTPS to Converttwo's document-conversion service for layout-aware processing.

Each server conversion uses an isolated temporary directory. The service is designed to remove temporary input, output, and workspace files immediately after processing. Cleanup is also attempted after failed or interrupted conversions. Converttwo does not intentionally retain file contents or use uploaded documents for any other purpose.

Service operation, hosting, and security

Converttwo's server, hosting providers, and security systems may process standard request information such as IP address, request time, requested URL, response status, and browser details for service delivery, security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting. Converttwo does not intentionally place document contents or filenames in application logs.

Site settings and third-party resources

Converttwo uses browser local storage to remember the light or dark theme selected on the site. The site also loads fonts and software libraries from third-party content delivery networks, including Google Fonts and jsDelivr. When a browser requests those resources, the provider may receive ordinary request information such as the visitor's IP address, browser details, and the requested resource.

Google and third-party advertising

Pages with advertising code may use Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google and other advertising vendors authorized through AdSense, may use cookies, web beacons, local-storage identifiers, or similar technologies to serve, limit, and measure advertisements, prevent fraud, and produce advertising reports.

Google may use advertising cookies based on a visitor's prior visits to Converttwo or other websites. Depending on the visitor's settings, location, and applicable consent choices, advertising technologies may process browser type, device information, approximate location, ad views or interactions, and cookie or local-storage identifiers. Converttwo does not send selected conversion-file contents to Google or advertising vendors as part of an advertising request.

Personalized advertising may use information about prior activity to select ads. If personalized advertising is disabled, Google may still show non-personalized or contextual ads based on factors such as the current page, general location, or limited frequency information.

Advertising choices

You can manage or disable personalized advertising from Google through Google Ads Settings. Where relevant, you can also use the advertising-industry opt-out information at AboutAds.info. Opting out of personalized advertising does not necessarily stop advertisements from appearing.

Consent in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

Manual advertising is currently disabled in the site configuration while a Google-certified consent management platform or Google's AdSense Privacy & Messaging solution is configured and tested. Before advertising is enabled for visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, that setup must offer the required choices and pass consent, refusal, and preference-change signals to the advertising system. When the certified message is active, the Privacy choices link in the footer will reopen those preferences. Consent compliance should not be treated as complete until the dialog, preferences, and resulting ad requests have been tested for applicable visitors.
